About Fix My Speaker

Fix My Speaker is a free online speaker cleaner. It plays carefully chosen tones through your phone, tablet or laptop speaker to help push out water and dust, and it includes a stereo test and a custom frequency tool for checking your speakers.

Who makes it

Fix My Speaker is built and maintained by Hidayath Studios, a small independent studio based in India. We build simple, useful web tools that work on any device without installing anything.

Why we built it

Water in a phone speaker is one of the most common phone problems, and most of the fixes people find online are either an app full of ads, a shortcut that only works on one platform, or advice like the rice bag that doesn’t really help. We wanted a fast, honest tool that:

  • Works in any modern browser on iPhone, Android, Windows and Mac.
  • Loads quickly and starts with one tap.
  • Generates its sound on your device, with no recording, no microphone access and no sign-up.
  • Explains clearly what it can and can’t fix.

What the tool does

  • Water Eject plays a steady low-frequency buzz (a 15 Hz square wave with harmonics through 165 Hz and beyond) to push water out of the speaker grille.
  • Dust Removal sweeps between 100 and 1000 Hz in short pulses to shake loose dust and lint.
  • Deep Clean uses low pulsed tones for stubborn cases and larger speakers.
  • Stereo Test checks left and right speakers separately.
  • Custom Hz lets you choose any frequency from 60 to 1000 Hz with a timer.

Our guides

Alongside the tool, we write practical guides on wet phones, muffled and crackling speakers, cleaning speaker grilles, testing stereo speakers and knowing when a repair is needed. We aim to give advice that’s accurate and safe, and we update guides when we learn something new. You can find them all on the Guides page.

Free to use

Fix My Speaker is free. To keep it that way, the site may show advertising. Ads never affect the tool or the advice in our guides. See our Privacy Policy for how advertising and cookies work on this site.

Honest limits

Sound can clear water and dust from the speaker opening. It can’t dry the inside of a device, remove corrosion or repair a damaged speaker. If your device still has problems after using the tool and drying it, please have it checked by the manufacturer or a qualified repair shop. Read our Disclaimer for full details.
